About The Calf Suite ~ Y Beudy

Y Beudy is a lovely two bedroom cottage situated at Bryncarnedd Country Cottages. It benefits from an open plan kitchen and lounge, and a lawn and patio area to the rear. This cottage has access to a communal hot tub, perfect for a lazy summer evening when you're relaxing and indulging in a tall glass of local gin and tonic. The property is also close to Aberystwyth town centre and the world-renowned Cardigan Bay coastline, and within driving distance of the Ynyslas sand dunes, part of the Dyfi Biosphere.

The Calf Suite is located at Bryncarnedd Country Cottages, a complex of 12 cottages. There is an outdoor hot tub for all guests to enjoy, free WiFi, ample parking and, during the summer months, an outdoor gazebo and BBQ area. The cottages are located a mile from Aberystwyth's town centre, a stone's throw away from the Welsh Coastal Path and a perfect location for exploring Mid Wales.

Aberystwyth is a very popular seaside town, which houses Aberystwyth University first opened in 1872, and the National Library of Wales which opened in 1907. The town lies between three hills and two beaches, and has the remains of a castle, a Pier and also a lovely harbour. For those interested in local history, the surrounding hills have the remains of an Iron Age fort, as well as a monument to Wellington. Within the town there are over 40 pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes, with some well known CAMRA pubs and cocktail bars! There are also many high street stores, supermarkets, a local Tourist Information, two cinemas, leisure centre and a museum located which is located in an old Edwardian theatre.

Further afield, to the north lies Machynlleth and Dolgellau, both beautiful market towns steeped in history and on the borders of Snowdonia National Park. While traveling north, those who are interested in bird watching might stop off at the Dyfi Osprey Project, which is located in the Cors Dyfi Nature Reserve, or for mountain bike enthusiasts, just past Dolgellau is the famous Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre.

South of Aberystwyth is Aberaeron, a gorgeous seaside town with a wealth of local shops and highly recommended restaurants, and further afield again is New Quay, famous for the dolphins who are regularly sited here (Sea Watch Foundation). Cardigan Bay really does have a wealth of wildlife and spectacular views to offer those visiting the area, and Aberystwyth is a great base if you are looking to explore to the north and south.
